Can't say enough great things about this hotel. We picked this hotel because it was only a couple blocks from the theater where we had tickets to see a show. We were so pleasantly surprised with the entire experience from start to finish. First off, we took a very early flight and arrived around 9am, at which point we were allowed to check in! Our expectation was to drop our bags and go wander around until 3pm or so, but no! We checked in immediatedly and were able to relax and freshen up. The location was perfect if you're seeing a show. Just 5-7 minute walk to most theaters, but also a quick walk to catch the metro up or downtown. We're not Times Square people, but if you are, it's right up the street. The room: OMG THE ROOM WAS HUGE! If you're used to NYC rooms you know they're generally the size of a closet. This room had a foyer, a full size closet, a loveseat and arm chair with a coffee table in the sitting area, two queen beds, and a giant bathroom equipped with a huge garden tub and a bidet! The beds were super comfy. And I'm pregnant...so that's tough to find. We never once felt cramped in the room. In fact, we found ourselves just sitting around wasting sightseeing time because we just felt so comfortable. Top it off that all of this was a mere $200/night. An incredible and unbeatable deal. Overall it was probably one the best short stays I've ever had in the city. I'm already looking for reasons to return just so I have an excuse to stay in this hotel again.

We paid a small sum to upgrade to a junior suite, which was both spacious and excellent value for money (as was our original booking). I have stayed at the Michelangelo many, many times over the years travelling on business (it was my go-to hotel of choice), but not since Covid. I was concerned that it may have deteriorated, but my concerns were unfounded. Yes, it shows a few very minor signs of wear and tear, here and there, but nothing material (and I am fussy). It is perfectly located, the rooms are spacious and quiet (despite being close to Times Square), the beds and pillows are comfortable, and the bathrooms are spacious, clean, and adequately equipped. The staff are efficient, friendly, and helpful. Unlike many centrally-located hotels in this part of NYC, it is small enough to feel like a boutique hotel (there are no coach party groups all milling around in the foyer area, for example — joy!). I found nothing that was not to like and provided that the pricing remains competitive I would make a point of staying there again on my next visit.

The hotel is located in the center of the Theatre District- no more that 3-4 blocks from anything you may need including 24 hour Walgreens, subways, shopping, diners, coffee, entertainment, Time Square, Broadway shows, Radio City, 30 Rock, etc. it’s a PERFECT midtown location. The staff, especially the Doorman Nick, are incredibly helpful for anything you may need. Being greeted so warmly every time you come in or leave is very heartwarming. it feels like home, and that’s a rare feeling in NYC.

If you want to be in the center, (Times square), it's the perfect place for you! This is not a new hotel so decor is a bit outdated but if you like the classical Renaissance heavy look then it works. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was very comfortable for a family of 5 and big in NY standards; beds were really comfie, bath was big and clean. I really enjoyed my stay there - great value for money all together!
